The 6 piece modular bookcase is easily buildable and interchangeable. With the six piece set, the user can arrange the furniture in many different ways; it can be a simple wall bookcase, or it can stand in the middle of the room, partitioning the space. The larger shelf is designed not only to contain more items but also to become a little desk as well, if it is placed in the forth pole from the floor. The whole set, except only for the structural tube, is made out of bamboo wood, which is a very sustainable material and at the same time really stiff and strong. The shelving units are supported by a newly designed hinge, inspired by the bamboo shape and form. The lamp is foldable and adjustable, which let the user interact with the product and modify its shape depending on the available space. A unit can be joined with other units, thanks to magnets placed on the edges, to make bigger lamps with different shapes and functionalities, so that the user can always modify its appearance and measures. The user can also detach a unit and carry it away and enjoy it even outside of his house. The two triangular wings are joined together with a newly designed hinge, so it can fold over and maintain any desired position. Every unit can be carged and used separately, but when they are attached together the user can charge and switch them on and off at once. This happens thanks to the electronic connectors placed on the edges, that lets the energy flows. The project addresses and explore Interaction Design and new solutions to engage the user in a long-term emotional relationship with their belongings. De-Isolating while working from home, sound and interaction design for the new working environment. Music and a good sound design can help cope with feelings and emotions as well as mental diseases triggered by self isolation, such as anxiety, paranoia, depression and many others. Sounds and quality of communication can improve the feeling of being connected to people as well as focusing on projects, studies or every day tasks. Moreover the sensitivity towards noise pollution and sounds has increased due to home office or tuition. The ability to focus and productivity have decreased because of home environments and surroundings. More and more people are working from their bad due to their health or their space needs, although it is harmful for their wellbeing as well as their productivity. Tactus encourages the interaction of the user with the sound system items while working from home and it re-designs how people who use them can improve their home office or tuition experience as well as their mental health. It engages the user in an interactive and tactile experience and it explores new ways of building relationships with devices. The measurement of the enormous cruises crossing the main canal in Venice are extremely disproportionate and excessive, when compared to the canal itself, the city’s buildings and the city’s overall area. Moreover, they are very dangerous for the citizens health and general safety. In the past decades, while more and more cruises are boarding every single day, there has been an increase in cancers as well as incidents in the canals. The disrupted naked furniture aims to generate an emotional attachment with the user by being honest in their artificiality. Being displayed as an House Archive of plastics, the metal frames shows the scrap plastics held inside, in an effort to save them from the environment. The user will then build a long-term relationship with the items, to self-generate sustainable behaviours. The industrial waste becomes part of ourselves and plays a key role in understanding and reflecting our society, leading to the eventual establishment of a new aesthetic language. The furniture deliberately packs morewaste material inside the frames, benefiting both the functionality of the object and the planet, consequently opposing the traditional manufacturing processes of the Plastic Industry. While providing the audience with a provocative vision of the future of plastics, the project also explores how future scenarios could feel less alienating if pictured as emotional and poetic. Some hear a little with the support of a cochlear implant or hearing aid. Some can’t hear anything at all. In fact, the abilities and needs of those with hearing disabilities are as diverse as the community itself. Advocate for more funding for communication services. Interpretation services are essential for deaf and HOH populations interacting with the health community, but they can be expensive. You can imagine the emotional and psychological toll of not being able to communicate with those closest to you, let alone others at school or work. Tons and tons of olive pomace are thrown away every year. The process of transforming it in a new sustainable material ennobles the raw waste, by exploiting its full potential and creating a tableware collection. Firstly, the olive pomace is dehydrated and dried out of the last oil residue. After the drying process, the olive pomace can achieve a sand consistency that allows it to be pressed into the silicon mould. It is then mixed with natural glues and bio resin to make it stiff and waterproof. Italians, while eating, traditionally say “passami l’olio”. Floods has been more and more frequent in the city of Venice and much more destructive during the past three years due to climate change. Current data shows that there are more tourists visiting Venice every day than there are actual inhabitants living and working in the city. Local businesses and activities are closing because of recents floods which have highly damaged shops and workshops, but most of all because of mass tourism which has brought cheap competition and low quality lifestyle due to daily overpopulation. In Murano, glass masters have been making handblown pieces since the 13th century and have been know for having the finest skills in the world. For example the Antica Murrina, a traditional technique which consists in placing small pieces of round shapes glass to create highly precise patterns. It is only made in Venice. Due to mass tourism and cheap competition, what used to be an high quality and luxurious production is now about to die.
